About
it was back in the nineties that i first started using “zill-e-ilahi” as a pseudonym. literally, the shadow of god, it was the appropriate mode of address for an emperor – much like the english “your majesty” – and since modesty has never been one of my vices, i took it upon myself to carry forward this royal tradition. i also feel some responsibility for the decline and eventual fall of the mughal empire as i am a direct descendant of a series of royal advisers and viziers who served the richest empire in documented history – until its fall in 1857 – after which they bailed out and changed their names. the first mughal emperor, zaheeruddin babar, commissioned a biography while still in power which is apparently still in the market under the name of tuzk-e-babari (i am not sure what the ISBN is, perhaps you should contact amazon). his more illustrious grandson, jalaluddin mohammad akbar, who is known, among other things, for murdering his son’s girlfriend and having over 300 wives, commissioned a slightly more popular biography called the akbarnama whose paperback edition made it to the new york times bestseller list for 8 consecutive weeks in the summer of 1602.
i, unfortunately, do not have the liberty of appointing a biographer. the years (and the british) have left me with little or nothing of my royal inheritance except for my title of xill-e-ilahi, which, to be honest, is considered too feudalistic by the young turks of today who frown on such “backward practices”. nonetheless, i persevere; writing my own autobiography and calling myself by my rightful title until the day that i recover my lands and claim the throne of the empire.
or, at least, until i get a ferrari.
after that i will hire an assistant who can take shorthand and do the documenting himself. until then, you can read this blog. enjoy.

dude… need to talk to you about something. gimme me ur cell number. email me on 03222310754

Stumbled upon your blog a week ago and decided to come back. Not for the articles you write, but for how you write them, really amazing stuff you’re doing here, i like how you put information into the articles which makes it much more easier to read and much more interesting of course. Keep up the good work!

Live from Trenton, NJ 35 minutes ago–The live traffic feed is freaking me out: but that does not surprise me as I can still not figure out how the television displays images transmitted live via a dish on my roof.
That being said Xill-e-Ilahi, emperor of your own world: I am your manic reader.
Oh and I want to let you know that I sparkle over here: http://tiny.cc/Sparkles if you want to participate in a circus riot. (just kidding about the riot) maybe.
@ laura: honestly, i haven’t really figured out the live feed myself. thanks for the flattery
